Over 500 holidaymakers benefit from Osun’s Easter free train service

The Osun State Government has announced that more than 500 holidaymakers benefited from the free train service provided under its Imole Free Train Service initiative for the Easter festive season.
The Commissioner for Commerce and Industry, Mr. Bunmi Jenyo, disclosed this on Friday while receiving the travellers at the Osogbo Train Station.
According to a statement issued on Saturday by the ministry’s Information Officer, Ademiotan Adegbulugbe, the train departed Lagos at about 10am on Friday and arrived in Osogbo shortly before 9pm the same day.
Adegbulugbe added that apart from those who completed the journey to Osogbo, several passengers also disembarked at various stops in Ogun and Oyo states, having taken advantage of the free service.
Speaking while welcoming the passengers, Jenyo noted that many of the beneficiaries used the opportunity not just to travel, but also to transport goods to their home state.
He reaffirmed Governor Ademola Adeleke’s commitment to implementing initiatives that ease the economic burden on residents.
At the last count, we had 500. At that time, the people who actually joined the train from Agege were not accounted for. Meaning, I am only talking about people that took off from the Ido terminal.
We had passengers from Agege, Abeokuta, and if you add it up, I am sure it’s more than 500.
“Most of the passengers sent me to help them tell Governor Ademola Adeleke that they appreciate him for this gesture and they want it to continue, and they are praying for him—that his tenure will be successful and his second term is guaranteed. This is a message from them,” he added.
Jenyo also urged members of the opposition to refrain from spreading falsehoods about the Adeleke administration, encouraging them instead to acknowledge the tangible achievements made in governance.
“I want to seize this opportunity to appeal to the opposition for them to stop their unnecessary propaganda, because when you see that a government is doing well, appreciate the government,” he said.
