Board lauds Osun college’s training standard

The Community Health Practitioners Registration Board of Nigeria has lauded the Ikirun College of Health Technology for what it described as robust investment in modern facilities, practical training tools, and a conducive learning environment.

According to a statement shared with Saturday PUNCH on Friday by the Public Relations Officers of the college, Adewuyi Adedokun, the commendation followed the conclusion of the board’s accreditation exercise at the institution.

The statement noted that the exercise, which commenced on Monday and ended on Wednesday, followed an advisory visit held in late October 2025.

Speaking during the visit, the accreditation team leader, Dr Mohammed Abdullahi, highlighted the board’s commitment to professionalism and quality assurance in community health education.

“The mandate of the board is to uphold professionalism and quality in the health sector. Our visits ensure that institutions meet the required standards and that graduates are well-equipped to serve communities effectively,” he said.

Abdullahi commended the institution for its “significant investment in state-of-the-art equipment, demonstration tools, and models that enhance practical learning.”

He also praised the institution for recruiting “highly qualified staff” and providing an enabling environment that supports contemporary training standards

We are pleased with the level of preparedness and the quality of facilities here. The management’s dedication to practical and theoretical training is evident,” he added.

In his remarks, the Chief Academic Officer of the college, Salaudeen Oyewale, reiterated the institution’s dedication to delivering high-quality education and robust practical training to its students.

“Our mission is to produce health practitioners who are not only knowledgeable but also professionally grounded. That is why we continuously invest in infrastructure, human resources, and quality assurance systems,” he stated.

During the exercise, the board’s team reviewed academic documents, interacted with faculty and staff, inspected students’ records, and assessed the functionality of laboratories, classrooms, and demonstration units.

Discussions also addressed curriculum implementation, student welfare, staff development, and institutional sustainability.

The board expressed satisfaction with the organisation and readiness of the college, while encouraging continued improvement in line with evolving professional standards in the nation’s quality health drive.
