Tinubu visits Kebbi today
President Bola Tinubu will on Saturday (today) embark on a one-day official visit to Kebbi State.
In a statement on Friday on X, the Special Adviser to the President on Information and Strategy, Bayo Onanuga, said Tinubu would inaugurate several projects executed by the state Governor, Nasir Idris, during the visit.
He said the president would also headline the 61st Argungu International Fishing and Cultural Festival as the special guest of honour.
“The festival is one of Africa’s most celebrated cultural events. It is staged by the riverside of the historic Matan Fada, recognised by UNESCO as an Intangible Cultural Heritage of Humanity,” the statement reads.
Meanwhile, Special Assistant to the President on Social Media, Dada Olusegun, said Tinubu would formally receive Kano State Governor, Abba Yusuf, into the All Progressives Congress on Monday.
Olusegun said the grand reception ceremony would take place at the Sani Abacha Stadium in Kano.
In January, Yusuf resigned his membership of the New Nigeria People’s Party and defected to the APC.
He cited “deepening internal crises” and “prolonged leadership disputes” as reasons for his exit from the NNPP.
