Oloko Installs Adedamola Kuti, Wife, As Okanlomo Of Ijebu-Imushin

The Oloko of Ijebu-Imushin, His Royal Highness Oba Stephen Onafowokan, recently conferred the prestigious titles of Otunba Okanlomo and Yeye Otunba Okanlomo of Ijebu-Imushin, Ogun State, on prominent Lagos socialite and distinguished Ijebu son, Engr. Adedamola Kuti, and his wife, Barrister Oluwaseun Kuti.

Engr. Adedamola Kuti, a respected figure in the Federal Civil Service until his retirement in 2024, also holds the titles of Otunba Ajisefini of Abigi in Ogun Waterside and Asiwaju of Ipebi in Ijebu-Imushin, his hometown. His wife, Barr. Oluwaseun Kuti, is the Yeye Ayora of Abigi in Ogun Waterside.

A seasoned civil engineer, Adedamola Kuti served with distinction under the Federal Ministry of Works, making key contributions to infrastructure development across the country. He is a member of several esteemed organizations, including the Knights of Saint Christopher, May 15 Elite Club, Island Club Lagos, and Ijebu-Ode Club.

Barr. Oluwaseun Kuti, affectionately known as Otunba (Mrs) Okanlomo, is a dedicated legal practitioner and accomplished entrepreneur. She is the principal partner at Oluwaseun Kuti & Co., CEO of Foldams Integrated Ventures Ltd., and an active member of the Nigerian Bar Association (Ikeja Branch). Widely admired for her passion for law, business, and family, she is a beacon of excellence in her profession.

During the prayer session, the Ojotumoro of Abigi, Oba 'Segun Ogunye, described the couple as “one in a million,” applauding their integrity, humility, and contributions to Ijebuland.

“I pray for you today, may your lives continue to grow in all aspects. You have shown great character, and I personally witnessed your virtues before your installation in Abigi. May Olodumare continue to guide and protect you,” he said.

In his remarks, Oba Onafowokan noted that the choice of Engr. Kuti and his wife was based purely on merit.

“The Okanlomo title is not just any title, it is reserved for individuals of distinction. You are receiving what you truly deserve,” he declared.

He also offered heartfelt prayers for their continued success in their personal and professional pursuits.

In his response, Engr. Adedamola Kuti expressed deep appreciation to the monarch, fellow dignitaries, and all well-wishers. He reaffirmed his commitment to the development of Ijebu-Imushin and pledged to support the ongoing palace extension project through the contributions of his family, friends, and business associates.

"I am passionate about Ogun State, and especially my community, Ijebu-Imushin. I recall my time in the Federal Civil Service and the opportunities I had to make an impact. Whenever we had such chances, we never forgot our roots. I deeply appreciate everyone here today, including our royal fathers."

The ceremony was graced by the presence of various Ijebu royal fathers, Baales, chiefs, and dignitaries. Notable attendees included Otunba Major General Samson Adewunmi Odunsi (Rtd), the Iyaloja, and other respected personalities who came together to celebrate the newly installed Otunba and Yeye Otunba Okanlomo.
