Ogun Reassures Aluminum Recyclers Enabling Environment
Ogun State Government through its Environmental Protection Agency (OGEPA), has reassured members of the Aluminum Recyclers Association of an enabling environment to operate and grow their business across the State.
This was disclosed by the General Manager, Ogun State Environmental Protection Agency, Hon. Kehinde Bello, during a meeting with members of the association, in his office at Oke-Mosan Abeokuta, explaining that the meeting was aimed at strengthening collaboration, resolving operational challenges and promoting unity within the sector.
He emphasised the importance of recycling which included the reduction of environmental pollution and creating employment opportunities for the citizens of the State.
"We are committed to supporting harmony among members and ensuring a level playing field for all operators," he said.
The OGEPA Boss, urged the association to comply strictly with environmental standards, particularly in waste disposal and emission control, to ensure recycling activities do not pose health risk to host communities, adding that his office would be open to all operators and relevant stakeholders to promote an environmental friendly work space.
In his response, Chairman of the association, Alhaji Kamoru Mudashiru, expressed appreciation to the management of the agency for creating the opportunity to engage and collectively explore ways to improve their operations, pledging maximum cooperation with the agency in sustaining a cleaner, safer and healthier environment across the State.
