Oba Ogunye Confers Gbadero, Yeyeluwa Titles On Onanuga In Abigi Kingdom

The Ojotumoro of Abigi, His Royal Highness Alaiyeluwa Barrister Olusegun Ogunye, has conferred prestigious chieftaincy titles on Otunba Temitayo Onanuga and his wife, Yeye Olabisi Onanuga, in Abigi Kingdom, Ogun Waterside Local Government Area of Ogun State.

The installation ceremony, held on Thursday, December 11, 2025, at the Ojotumoro’s Palace in Abigi, attracted dignitaries from various walks of life. Among them was the Orimolusi of Ijebu Igbo, His Royal Highness Oba Lawrence Jaiyeoba Adebajo, Ojuromi V1.

The UK-based couple, natives of Isonyin in Ijebu North East Local Government Area and known advocates of community development, were honoured with the titles of Otunba Gbadero and Yeyeluwa of Abigi Kingdom.

Expressing his joy, Oba Ogunye said the couple merited the honours in recognition of their character, contributions, and commitment to the development of Ijebuland.

“I am happy today to honour this distinguished couple, Otunba Temitayo and Yeye Olabisi Onanuga, with our traditional chieftaincy titles. This is a way of decorating them as our own in Ijebuland.” 

The monarch further appealed to Ijebu sons and daughters, both at home and in the diaspora, to return and contribute to ongoing efforts aimed at developing the land and promoting its culture and traditions.

In their response, the couple expressed deep appreciation to the monarch, describing him as a true royal father and an epitome of cultural preservation. They prayed for continued peace, progress, and prosperity in Abigi Kingdom.
