NSCDC orders 24-hour surveillance on critical national assets in Kano

The newly appointed Commandant Kano State Command of the Nigeria Security and Civil Defence Corps, Bala Bodinga has ordered 24-hour patrol and surveillance on critical national assets and infrastructure across the 44 local government areas of the State.

The directive was contained in a statement by the command’s Public Relations officer, Ibrahim Abdullahi, a copy of which was made available on Tuesday.

He said the commandant gave the order when he assumed office as the newly posted commandant of the Kano State command of the NSCD.

“Upon assumption of office as the newly posted state of Corps, Kano state command, Comdt Bala Bodinga tasked officers and men to rededicate themselves to the pivotal task of securing the nation’s critical assets and infrastructure.

The state Commandant directed that henceforth midnight/24hrs patrols and surveillance must be embarked on by the operatives of the Corps to ward off the activities of vandals and criminal elements in nooks and crannies of the state,” he said.

Born on February 7, 1973, Bodinga received his early education in Sokoto State before proceeding to the prestigious Ahmadu Bello University, Zaria, where he earned a Bachelor of Education (B.Ed.) degree in Hausa Language.

Over the years, he has participated in numerous professional courses and training both locally and internationally.

These include Drills and Parade with the Nigerian Army 4th Battalion Guards Lugi Barrack, Civil-Military Coordination at the Nigerian Army Peacekeeping Centre, Jaji Barrack in Kaduna.

He had played an active role in several joint operations that furthered the NSCDC’s mandate.

Before his current deployment to the Kano  State command, Commandant Bodinga held several strategic positions across Nigeria.

The state Commandant was also once briefly deployed as the state Commandant of Corps in Kebbi State before he was later recalled back to NHQ  for another important national assignment by our Ahmad Audi.

It had reported that NSCDC declared a nationwide red alert across all its tactical and intelligence units in response to the wave of vandalism and sabotage targeting critical infrastructure.

The corps vowed to crack down on perpetrators, warning that anyone caught in the act would face legal consequences.
