Kidnappers kill health worker in Ondo

Akinola Oyabiyi, a health worker, was killed by gunmen who are thought to be kidnappers. At Eleyowo in the Akure North Local Government Area, Oyabiyi, 46, was shot and killed inside his vehicle close to the Akure Airport. Last week, two farmers were kidnapped from the vicinity of Akure Airport.

Sources said the deceased was returning home when he was shot dead on Tuesday evening. 

According to the source: “The incident happened on Tuesday around 8pm when he was going home . The people ( bandits) attacked him. I think they were trying to kidnap him. 

He was shot in the belly and died shortly after. We learned the bandits came out from the the bush and shot him in his car.”

Ondo Police spokesman, Funmilayo Odunlami confirmed the incident and said investigation has commenced.
