Kano govt warns against insulting Kwankwaso
The Kano State Government has warned supporters of Governor Abba Yusuf against making inflammatory remarks or insulting the leader of the national leader of the New Nigeria Peoples Party, Rabiu Kwankwaso, warning that such actions will attract disciplinary sanctions.
The warning was issued on Saturday by the Director General, Media and Publicity, Government House, Kano, Bature Tofa, during the distribution of motorcycles to residents at the Open Space Theatre, Government House.
He said the government would not condone acts of indiscipline or disrespect toward Kwankwaso, whom he described as a political leader whose contributions to the state politics must be recognised, irrespective of current political developments.
“We will not accept indiscipline or insults against the leader of the Kwankwasiyya movement, Rabiu Musa Kwankwaso. Anybody who engages in such behaviour will face the consequences. We will not accept it,” he said
Tofa urged supporters of the governor to exercise restraint and maturity, particularly amid heightened political tension following recent political realignments in the state.
According to him, the government remains committed to sustaining peace and unity among its supporters, stressing that political differences should not degenerate into personal attacks or abusive conduct.
Tofa also reminded party members that respect for leaders and discipline within the political structure were critical to stability and effective governance.
The warning follows ongoing reactions and debates over Yusuf’s recent resignation from the NNPP, a development that has drawn mixed reactions within the Kwankwasiyya Movement and among residents of the state
