It’s not bad idea to abandon sinking ship, coalition of confusion — Tinubu

In a veiled dig at the Peoples Democratic Party (PDP) and the coalition-backed African Democratic Congress (ADC), President Bola Tinubu has urged more opposition politicians to embrace the ruling party.
While speaking at the APC NEC meeting in Abuja on Thursday, President Tinubu said there is room for defecting politicians to joining the APC, saying it is not a bad idea for them to dump sinking ship and coalition of confusion.
It’s not a bad idea to abandon a sinking ship and be absent from a coalition of confusion,” Tinubu said.
The President also welcomed the Governor of Delta State, Sheriff Oborevwori and Governor Umo Eno of Akwa Ibom State, both of whom recently dumped the PDP for the APC.
“With the space that we have created to allow aspiring people to join us, our doors are still open and we should embrace them wholeheartedly,” the president said.
President Tinubu said this shortly after the APC announced the Minister of Humanitarian Affairs, Prof. Nentawe Yiltwada, as National Chairman of the party.
Yiltwada replaces Dr Abdullahi Ganduje, who resigned on June 27.
