Ijebu Rewa Gifts Landed Property To 7-Year-Old Girl At Christmas Party
Fun, excitement and education came together on Sunday at Otunba Dipo Dina International School as Ijebu Rewa hosted the second edition of its annual Christmas celebration, tagged the Ijebu Rewa Owanbe Party.
The colourful event drew over 600 children and more than 300 parents, creating a vibrant atmosphere of joy and celebration. Popular children’s host, MC Clymas, kept the audience fully entertained with his energetic performance, delighting both young and old.
Beyond the festivities, the programme placed strong emphasis on intellectual development and confidence-building. A special Word Search competition, coordinated by Barrister Adunola Adelaja, Founder of Triple A’s Widows Foundation, alongside Mr Adetola, featured over 100 participating children.
At the end of the contest, a seven-year-old girl, Oyebo Bandele Serena, emerged as the overall winner and was rewarded with a half plot of land an extraordinary gift sponsored by Ijebu Rewa.
Parents at the event commended the organisers for successfully blending fun with learning, describing the party as innovative, impactful and unforgettable. Many appealed for the initiative to be held more frequently.
Speaking with journalists, the Ijebu Rewa boss, Ambassador Sijuade Olalekan, expressed gratitude to God and appreciation to parents for their trust and support.
“We thank God and all the parents who believed in us. This programme is about giving children a sense of value, confidence and opportunity,” he said.
Several parents also shared glowing testimonies which one described the celebration as unprecedented in the entire Ijebuland.
“This event is far better than many paid parties of N3,000 and N4,000. I give the organisers a pass mark for this epoch-making event. My children enjoyed themselves so much they didn’t even want to leave. They are already asking when the next party will be.
"I thank the organisers for building their self-esteem and confidence,” the parent said.
Similarly, another guest, who preferred to remain anonymous, praised the organisers and the vision behind the initiative.
“Even though I wasn’t feeling well, my children dragged me here. Now they are asking for tomorrow’s party. Thank you for giving the less privileged a chance to feel loved. May God replenish everything you spent,” the guest said.
The Ijebu Rewa Christmas Party once again demonstrated how community-based initiatives can inspire, educate and uplift children, while bringing families together in the true spirit of the festive season.
