Friends, Associates Honour Ogun Popular Publisher, Dayo Rufai At 50th Birthday Celebration

It was a grand celebration filled with glamour and goodwill as friends, family, and media colleagues gathered to honour renowned Ogun State media guru and socialite, Baaroyin Dayo Rufai, on the occasion of his 50th birthday. The golden jubilee festivities, which began at Equity Resorts and Suites, later transitioned to the lively Ule Faaji Club in Igbeba, Ijebu Ode, on Sunday.

Initially planned as a low-key event, the celebration quickly transformed into a lavish affair with the arrival of distinguished guests, including the immediate past Senator of Ogun East, Senator Olalekan Mustapha, and Ogun State House of Assembly Minority leader, Hon. Lukman Adeleye. Also in attendance were the celebrant’s media colleagues and numerous well-wishers from various walks of life.

In their tributes, Senator Mustapha, Hon. Adeleye, and Comrade Kunle Olayeni, former Chairman of the Ogun NUJ Correspondents’ Chapel; lauded Rufai as a principled, passionate, and unflinchingly honest media professional, known for his unwavering support of those around him, regardless of their background.

Currently the publisher of Gateway Times and Ijebu NewsExtra, Baaroyin Rufai previously served as a state correspondent for Encomium magazine. Over the years, he has built a solid reputation in Nigeria’s media landscape, particularly within the Ijebu axis, where he is regarded as a media powerhouse and cultural advocate.

Known for his commitment to truth and detail, Rufai’s strict ethical standards and steadfast approach to journalism have earned him both admiration and respect. Beyond the newsroom, he is also an accomplished entrepreneur, cultural promoter, and the visionary chairman of the Ule Faaji Centre.
