Adeleke signs Osun Park Management bill, assures of implementation

The Osun State Governor, Ademola Adeleke, has signed into law the Osun State Park Management Bill passed recently by the State House of Assembly.

This was disclosed on Monday in a statement signed by the governor’s spokesperson, Olawale Rasheed, who noted that the governor commended the House of Assembly for its proactiveness and dynamism.

The signing ceremony took place at the Government House.

At the event, Adeleke described the new law as a “major step towards modernising Osun transport system and creating a worthwhile experience for commuters and operators across the state.”

He further said, “I applaud the House Speaker and members of the House for always acting in the best interest of the state. I have gone through the bill as passed by the House, and I am convinced that it is the best solution to the perennial crisis and challenges facing the Osun transportation park system.

Having signed this bill into law, I assure all stakeholders that implementation will commence in earnest. In line with the law, we will ensure that Osun people and other interests are accommodated for efficient service delivery across the state.”

Earlier, Speaker of the House Adewale Egbedun said the House complied with its standing rules to process and finalise the passage of the bill.

Egbedun assured the governor and the citizenry that the new law provided answers to questions bordering the minds of most Osun people.

The PUNCH reports that the House of Assembly had announced the passage of the Osun State Integrated Transport, Traffic and Park Management System Bill, 2026.

A statement by the Chief Press Secretary to the Speaker, Tiamiyu Olamide, obtained in Osogbo, indicated that the bill was sponsored by the Chairman, House Committee on Works and Transport, Abiola Waheed.

“A major objective of the legislation is the introduction of a digitalised ticketing system designed to eliminate the practice of multiple ticketing in motor parks,” Tiamiyu said.
