Edo gov tours project sites, reaffirms commitment to infrastructural development

Edo State Governor, Monday Okpebholo, has
reaffirmed his administration’s commitment to infrastructure and human capital development in Edo Central Senatorial District in particular, and Edo State in general.

He stated this during an inspection tour of major ongoing flagship projects in Esan Central Local Government Area on Saturday.

In a statement by the governor’s CPS, Fred Itua, among the key ongoing projects inspected were the new Edo State College of Nursing and Health Sciences Technology, located at Udomi, as well as the construction of the Uromi–Onewa–Udomi–Ibhiolulu–Afuda–Idumoza–Eko–Owaya–Ewora Road, a major interconnecting route designed to enhance transportation and boost economic activities across the region.

During the visit, Governor Okpebholo expressed satisfaction with the pace and quality of work done so far

He lauded the efforts of Mutual Commitment Co. Ltd and Setraco Nigeria Limited, the construction firms handling the projects, for maintaining high standards and adhering to agreed timelines.

The governor, who was accompanied by top government officials and aides, was taken around the various project sites by the project engineers, who briefed him on progress made and the phases yet to be completed.

Expressing satisfaction during the inspection, Governor Okpebholo noted that the projects were in line with his administration’s agenda to improve healthcare, education, and infrastructure across the state.

He said: “We are determined to deliver quality projects that will directly impact the lives of our people. I am impressed with what I have seen here today.”

He further assured residents of Esan Central that his administration would continue to monitor ongoing projects to ensure timely completion and durability.

Recall that in the first week of May 2025, the Governor signed into law a bill for the establishment of the Edo State College of Nursing, Health Sciences and Technology.

The governor has also taken up the repair of some sections of Sapele Road, while also doing palliative works on Agbor Road. The building being built at Ramat Park in Ikpoba Okha is also nearing completion.

Last week, the Commissioner for Information and Communication, Paul Ohonbamu, said that the government would begin the repair of roads in the Government Reservation Area as soon as the rainy season is over.
