US could turn attention to Cuba after Iran war – Trump

The President of the United States, Donald Trump, has suggested that his administration may shift its attention to Cuba after ongoing U.S. military operations involving Iran.

Trump made the remarks at the White House during a visit by players and officials of Inter Miami CF, the 2025 Major League Soccer champions, on Thursday.

Addressing a largely Miami-based audience that included several people of Cuban heritage, the U.S. president said Washington could turn its focus to Cuba once the situation in Iran is resolved.

He said, “What’s happening with Cuba is amazing. We think that we want to fix, finish this one first, but that will be just a question of time before you and a lot of unbelievable people are going to be going back to Cuba, hopefully not to stay.”

Trump’s remarks come less than a week into escalating military hostilities in the Middle East involving the United States, Israel, and Iran.

During the event, the president also gave an update on the ongoing conflict, saying American and Israeli forces were continuing their military campaign.

“We are totally demolishing the enemy,” he said while discussing the war in Iran.

Trump also praised Marco Rubio, the U.S. Secretary of State, for his role in the administration’s foreign policy efforts.
