Tinubu meets Oyo APC chieftain Folarin in Lagos

President Bola Tinubu on Thursday night met with a chieftain of the All Progressives Congress in Oyo State, Teslim Folarin, at his private residence in Ikoyi, Lagos.
Folarin, who was the APC governorship candidate in Oyo State during the 2023 general election, confirmed the meeting in a post shared on his official social media handles.
The meeting comes amid growing speculations over the party’s possible direction ahead of the 2027 governorship election in the state.
There have been reports that another APC leader, Sharafadeen Alli, is being considered as a potential governorship candidate. Alli had also met with the President earlier.
Although details of Thursday’s meeting were not made public, party sources said the engagements may not be unconnected with ongoing consultations within the APC on its strategy in Oyo State.
Folarin remains a key figure in the party, having represented Oyo Central in the Senate and contested the governorship election on the APC platform in 2023
