Terrorists abduct six in Adamawa gov’s home town
Suspected terrorists have attacked Madagali, the home town of Adamawa State Governor, Ahmadu Fintiri, kidnapping six family members in the early hours of Tuesday.
The attack occurred in Gare Village, Pallam District, Madagali Local Government Area of the state.
Confirming the incident in a statement issued on Tuesday, the spokesman for the Adamawa State Police Command, SP Suleiman Nguroje, said security operatives had launched a joint search-and-rescue operation to secure the release of the abducted victims.
“The Adamawa State Police Command has confirmed an attack on Gare Village, Pallam District, Madagali Local Government Area, in the early hours of today by suspected terrorists, which led to the abduction of a six family members and the rustling of livestock,” the statement read.
Nguroje said the command had immediately deployed additional personnel and operational assets to the area in collaboration with other security agencies.
“Upon receipt of the report, the Command immediately intensified collaboration and deployed additional personnel and operational assets in a joint operation involving the Nigeria Police Force, Troops of 144 Battalion, and the Civilian Joint Task Force to the affected area and surrounding communities,” he said.
According to the police spokesman, the Commissioner of Police, Adamawa State Command, Dankombo Morris, has ordered sustained operations to ensure the safe rescue of the victims and prevent further attacks.

He stressed that security agencies remained committed to safeguarding lives and property across the state.
“The command in collaboration with the Nigerian Army and other sister security agencies, remain fully committed to protecting lives and properties across the State,” he said, noting that “further updates will be communicated.”
The attack comes as Governor Fintiri on Tuesday commenced a tour of the 21 local government areas of the state to assess the security situation and other challenges facing residents.
Adamawa State has witnessed a wave of violent incidents in recent weeks. Hong Local Government Area was also attacked recently, leaving 12 people dead and several houses destroyed.
Earlier this year, a communal crisis between Bachama and Chobo communities in Lamurde Local Government Area claimed over 20 lives.
