Teenager gets university scholarship, N5m for creativity

Rainoil Limited has awarded a cash prize of N5 million and a full scholarship up to university level to 16-year-old ChineduNwali for his outstanding artistic rendition of a Rainoil station.
The Group Managing Director, Rainoil Limited, Dr. Gabriel Ogbechie who presented the cheque to the beneficiary at the Rainoil Summit Station, Asaba, the Delta State capital on Tuesday said the company is proud of the exceptional creativity of the teenager.
He said, “We are incredibly proud of Chinedu’s talent. His design captures not just the visual identity of Rainoil but also the passion and admiration behind it.
“It’s rare to see such talent in someone so young. We didn’t just want to appreciate him with money, but also support his education. That’s why we are giving him a scholarship that will cover his school from now until university.
While many youths are getting involved in wrong things, here is a young boy who used his time to create something so detailed. He should be a role model to other children.
“We are not just giving him scholarship, we will keep in touch with Chinedu to make sure he stays in school and develops his talent”
The Rainoil boss assured the company would continue to demonstrate its dedication to community development and youth empowerment by celebrating innovation and encouraging academic growth among Nigerian youths, encouraging other young people to stay focused, just like Chinedu, and avoid bad habits.
Chinedu’s work caught the eye of Rainoil’s Group Managing Director who was deeply impressed by the creativity and precision of the young artist’s design.
ChineduNwali, an SSI student who was speechless for the award, said he had long admired Rainoil’s brand and service stations, hence was inspired each time he walked past a station to create a prototype.
“Along with my brother, Emmanuel raised money to build a highly detailed and imaginative model of a typical Rainoil outlet, hoping it would catch the attention of the station manager” he narrated.
In his remarks, the Chairman Aniocha North Local Government, Emma BazimChinye, applauded the creative talent exhibited by the teenager, adding that the boy’s work was a gift from God and promised to support him too.
