Police arrest 16 suspects terrorising Niger resident
Operatives of the Niger State Police Command have arrested 16 suspects accused of terrorising residents in Minna, the state capital.
The suspects were caught during a police house-to-house sting operation at about 2am.
The suspects were said to be in possession of cutlasses, saw, sickle, and sticks
Some of them included: Najeem Yakubu of Kuta road, Zakari Hussaini of Kuta road, Idris Saidu of Sabongari, Naziru Kabiru of Angwan-Sarki, Shehu Sulaiman of Ogbomosho road, Anas Abubakar of Kotun-Bola among others.
According to the Police, the suspects are currently under investigation and would be transferred to the state Criminal Investigation Department for further investigations.

The spokesman of the Niger State Police Command Wasiu Abiodun made is known in a statement where he detailed that the suspects would be persecuted after the investigation.
“The Police operatives attached to Central Police Div Minna arrested sixteen miscreants between the period of 31st March to 2nd April 2026 terrorising Angwan-Sarki and Ogbomosho area of Minna,” Abiodun narrated.
He maintained, “The suspects were arrested during a house-to-house sting operation at about 2am where the following suspects were arrested; Najeem Yakubu of Kuta road, Zakari Hussaini of Kuta road, Idris Saidu of Sabongari, Naziru Kabiru of Angwan-Sarki, Shehu Sulaiman of Ogbomosho road, Anas Abubakar of Kotun-Bola and others.
“Exhibits recovered include two cutlasses, one sickle, one saw, three sticks. All suspects are under further investigations and they will soon be transferred to SCID Minna for diligent prosecution,” he concluded
