Oyo gov gifts Ayefele SUV after fire incident

The Oyo State Governor, Seyi Makinde, on Tuesday, presented a new brand Sports Utility Vehicle to the popular gospel singer, broadcaster, and Chairman of an Ibadan-based, Fresh FM Radio 105.9, Yinka Ayefele, following a fire incident that engulfed the Music House in Ibadan last Friday.

reports that the Music House was gutted by fire on Friday, and property worth several millions of naira was consumed.

Presenting the SUV to Ayefele in Ibadan, the state capital, the governor praised the broadcaster for his resilience and contributions to the entertainment industry and media growth in the state in particular and Nigeria in general.

Ayefele, who has been counting his losses following the inferno that gutted sections of the Fresh FM complex, was visibly moved as the governor, represented by the Commissioner for Local Government and Chieftaincy Matters, Otunba Ademola Ojo, handed him the keys to the SUV.

Governor Makinde, during the presentation at the Ayefele Music House, Challenge, Ibadan, praised the broadcaster for his resilience and contributions to the entertainment industry and media growth in Oyo State.

He said, “On behalf of the State Governor, Makinde, and the State Government, we are here to commiserate with you. You are a symbol of perseverance and inspiration to millions of Nigerians.

“On behalf of the Governor and the state government, we present this gift to you.”

It would be recalled that Makinde had earlier visited the station a day after the inferno to commiserate with Ayefele and assess the extent of the damage.
