Ondo Poly student matcheted to death

A fresh student of the Ondo State-owned Rufus Giwa Polytechnic, Owo (RUGIPO), identified as Oluwaseun, has been murdered by unknown assailants.

Sources said that the deceased who was a student of the Department of Mass Communication, was murdered at Opomulero Street in the ancient town.

The deceased, according to the source, had barely spent a month on campus as a fresh student before he met his untimely death.

Vanguard gathered that the deceased was a course representative and a musician.

The source told newsmen that “Oluwaseun was a fresher who had spent just three to four weeks on campus. He was brutally murdered by assailants.

” Why he was murdered remained a mystery because he is a fresh student and couldn’t have belong to any secret cult on campus.

” In fact, he was a course representative. It is sad that we lost him. Unfortunately, he was macheted.

Contacted, the institutions spokesperson, Samuel Ojo, who confirmed the murder of the student who confirmed the incident, described it as unfortunate.

Also, the state police command spokesperson, Funmi Odunlami, said police detectives have commenced investigations on the murder of the student.

Odunlami said that “Yes, it’s a case of suspected murder of one Seun Ojo Adeleye, an ND 1 student of mass communication.

Our men have started investigation, the killers would soon be arrested and charged to court for murder.

Meanwhile, the corpse has been deposited in the state specialist hospital in the town.
