Ogun NIPR celebrates Ogun State at 50
...congratulates Ogun Govt, People
The Ogun State Chapter, Nigerian Institute of Public Relations (NIPR) extends warmest congratulations to the government and people of Ogun State on the commemoration of a monumental milestone —50 years of statehood! The professional body, in particular, also rejoices with Prince (Dr.) Dapo Abiodun, CON, as the incumbent Governor steering the Gateway State into its 50th anniversary and launching it into another phase of sustained progress.
Remarkably, this Golden Jubilee celebration is a testament to Ogun State’s unwavering spirit, unrelenting pursuit of excellence, and unshakeable commitment to growth and development.
As a beacon of aspiration and breakthrough in Nigeria, Ogun State has consistently demonstrated an uncanny ability to rise above challenges, leveraging its rich human and natural resources to drive innovation, entrepreneurship, and economic prosperity. Apart from being a treasure trove of cultural heritage and historical landmarks, the state has also carved a niche as the education capital of Nigeria with the highest concentration of tertiary institutions.
Since its creation on February 3, 1976, Ogun State has transformed into a vibrant hub of activity, creativity, and opportunity. Today, the state is the powerhouse of public relations and is truly living up to its reputation by strategically nurturing talent, promoting professionalism, and driving positive initiatives through effective PR.
Without mincing words, Ogun State is a shining star in Nigeria’s firmament. Its enviable evolution, of course, is a product of cumulative leadership efforts. For this, Ogun NIPR salutes the visionary leaders, past and present, who have toiled tirelessly to lay the foundation for greatness and navigate the state towards its current status as a model of development.
We also applaud the people of Ogun State for their resilience, industry, and solidarity, which have earned the state its rightful place among Nigeria's most progressive and prosperous.
It is instructive to note that under the Abiodun-led administration, Ogun State has become renowned as one of Nigeria’s most business-friendly states, attracting manufacturing, logistics, real estate investments and technology hubs. The state's greatness is reflected in its growing industrialisation, with over 6,000 manufacturing firms, major assembly plants, and industrial clusters in various parts of the state.
In addition, the revolutionary infrastructure development, executed by Governor Dapo Abiodun's administration, has reinforced Ogun State's position as a regional connector, with over 1,000 roads constructed and rehabilitated since 2019, many of which are being commissioned to mark the state's 50 years milestone.
The icing on the cake for Ogun State is its strong internally generated revenue performance which has drastically reduced dependence on federal allocations and enhanced its development trajectory.
There is no doubt that the state's achievements attest to its potential and promise. As the next phase of development unfolds with the discovery of oil in two different locations and the prosperity promised by the several ambitious projects of the government, it is indubitable that the state is even poised for greater development.
As we stand on the threshold of our Golden Jubilee, let us look back not as a collection of separate towns and tribes, but as one indivisible family bound by a shared heritage.
On behalf of the Executive and entire members of Ogun NIPR, I say hearty congratulations, once again, to all indigenes, residents and friends of Ogun State.
Proudly Ogun!
Boldly Public Relations!!
Signed
Mrs. Oluwaseun Boye, mnipr
Chairman,
Ogun State Chapter
