Ogun 2027: Odusina Picks ADC for Ogun Governorship Race
Dr. Bolaji Marie Odusina, a physician and governorship aspirant, has officially announced the African Democratic Congress (ADC) as the platform for her 2027 Ogun State governorship bid, following what she described as extensive consultations and deep reflection.
Odusina, who had earlier declared her intention to contest without disclosing her party affiliation, said her eventual decision was guided by wide-ranging engagements with stakeholders across the state, as well as a careful assessment of the leadership direction Ogun State needs.
Speaking to journalists via a Zoom meeting on Friday in Abeokuta, the state capital, the 62-year-old humanitarian explained that her choice of the ADC reflects her commitment to a governance model anchored on inclusiveness and people-oriented policies.
Her words “Last week, on Tuesday 17th March 2026, I stood before you at Iwe Iroyin here in Abeokuta to officially declare my intention to contest for the office of Governor of Ogun State in 2027. At that time, I informed you that my political platform would be announced in the coming days.
"Today, I am happy to return to you with that important announcement. After wide consultations with stakeholders across the state, careful reflection on the kind of leadership Ogun needs, and deep consideration of the values I stand for, I have decided to pursue my governorship ambition under the platform of the African Democratic Congress (ADC)”
“This decision was not taken lightly. I chose the ADC because it aligns with my vision of inclusive, people-centred governance that puts health, advancement, and the welfare of every citizen first. The party provides a credible platform for fresh ideas and genuine service to the people of Ogun State.”
“My commitment remains the same: to lead with compassion, integrity, and innovation under the mantra DEEDOC 2027 – Ilera Ati Itesiwaju (Health and Progress). I will continue to focus on practical solutions in healthcare, education, job creation, security, infrastructure, agriculture, and youth and women empowerment.”
“I want to assure the good people of Ogun State that this journey is about service, not power. It is about healing our state, building unity, and creating real opportunities for every family, from Ijebu to Yewa, from Remo to Egba.”
“I call on all well-meaning indigenes of Ogun State, both at home and in the diaspora, to join hands with me in this mission. Let us work together to build the Ogun State of our dreams.”, the statement concluded.
Odusina, therefore, urged Ogun indigenes at home and in the diaspora
