NOA, Ondo partner on mass vaccination campaign

The National Orientation Agency in Ondo State has announced its collaboration with the Ondo State Primary Health Care Development Agency for a mass immunisation campaign set to take place from May 3 to 10, 2025.

This partnership aims to increase vaccination coverage across the state and improve public health.

In a statement on Sunday, Ondo State Director of NOA, James Adekunle, welcomed a delegation from the OSPHCDA, led by the agency’s Permanent Secretary, Dr. Adegoke Akanbiemu, during an advocacy visit in Akure.

The two agencies agreed to combine efforts to ensure the success of the vaccination drive, which will target children aged 0-15 months and 9-year-old girls for immunisation against several diseases.

Adekunle reaffirmed NOA’s commitment to supporting government health initiatives, particularly by disseminating information about the vaccination campaign.

He acknowledged the Federal Government’s efforts in improving maternal and child healthcare, emphasising the importance of timely communication to reach the masses effectively.

In response, Akanbiemu expressed appreciation for NOA’s support in ensuring the success of the campaign.

Speaking on behalf of the OSPHCDA,  Director of Disease Control, Dr. Victor Adefesoye, stressed the significance of the partnership, noting that NOA’s expertise in information dissemination would be pivotal in mobilising communities for the mass vaccination effort.

The collaboration is seen as vital in addressing immunisation gaps and ensuring the health and well-being of vulnerable children across Ondo State.

Both agencies are working closely to ensure that the campaign reaches as many people as possible and delivers the vaccines efficiently.
