Man rescued after jumping into Lagos lagoon
A man whose identity had not been confirmed as of press time reportedly jumped into the Lagos Lagoon after parking his car on a bridge.
The incident was, however, averted after local fishermen quickly intervened and rescued him from the water, preventing what eyewitnesses described as a potentially fatal situation.
A video of the rescue was shared on Instagram on Wednesday by Isaac Fayose, who raised concern about the development and urged Nigerians to check on their loved ones.
“Please, check on your family and friends. This just happened today. Who knows what went wrong,” he wrote.
Details surrounding what led to the incident remain unclear, while authorities are yet to issue an official statement.
The Lagos State Police Command had not confirmed the incident as of the time of filing this report.
