Kwara United apologises to fans for Confederation Cup exit

Kwara United Football Club of Ilorin has apologised to its fans and other stakeholders for crashing out of the CAF Confederation Cup in the preliminary stage.
The club’s Chairman, Kumbi Titiloye, in a statement on Monday, described the early exit as painful and regrettable.
The News Agency of Nigeria reports that the club lost 5-3 on aggregate to Asante Kotoko of Ghana on Sunday in Abeokuta.
The Harmony Boys needed an outright win to secure a place in the next round, but a lone strike by Hubert Gyalu in the 53rd minute sealed victory for the Porcupine Warriors in the return leg.
The chairman pleaded with fans to forgive the team, assuring them that Kwara United was determined to bounce back stronger.
“We apologise to our teeming and loyal fans and supporters for this unfortunate result.
“It was never our plan to crash out at this early stage.
We are poised to come back stronger, make amends in the league, and give our supporters something to cheer about,” Titiloye said.
