Gridlock: Sanwo-Olu advises residents on remote work arrangementI

Candidates for the July 12 local government elections in Lagos State have thronged the office of the Lagos State Independent Electoral Commission for validation.
Our correspondent, who was at the Sabo-Yaba office of the commission on Thursday, reported that chairmanship and councillorship candidates for the poll were presenting their credentials for verification at LASIEC.
The chairman of LASIEC, Justice Bola Okikiolu-Ighile (retd.), confirmed that the exercise would last for a few days as the state prepares for the July poll.
“The validation started today (Thursday), and it will run till Monday, and we have to finish it
So all the commissioners and the permanent secretary and some of our designated assistants are working all through. Nobody is going home,” the chairman said at her office in Yaba.
Several candidates from various political parties were seen on the LASIEC premises on Thursday, queuing for the exercise.
According to LASIEC, 15 political parties out of 19 would be participating in the election.
The reports that Governor Babajide Sanwo-Olu, on Tuesday, urged the All Progressives Congress chairmanship and councillorship candidates not to take the election for granted.
Sanwo-Olu, who presented the APC flag to all the party’s candidates at a stakeholders’ parley held at the State House, Marina, appealed to party leaders and candidates to work hard to validate APC dominance in the state.
