Friends Of Senator Adeola Organise Ramadan Prayer Ahead Of 2027 Ogun Governorship Race

A political support group, Friends of Senator Yayi (FSY), has organised a Ramadan Tafsir and special prayer session in honour of Senator Solomon Olamilekan Adeola, popularly known as Yayi, as momentum builds toward the 2027 governorship election in Ogun State.

The event, held on Sunday in Ijebu-North Local Government Area featured the distribution of food items and cash gifts to hundreds of Muslim faithful as part of Ramadan outreach activities.

Our correspondent reports that the gathering was convened in solidarity with what organisers described as the visionary and people-oriented leadership style of Senator Adeola within Ogun State’s political landscape.

The programme, themed “Politics With Purpose: Islamic Teachings On Justice, Service Delivery, And Community Development,” brought together Islamic clerics, community leaders, and Muslim faithful to reflect on leadership values anchored on justice, compassion, and service to society.

The prayer session was led by respected Imams and Alfas from across Ijebu-North Local Government Area, who offered prayers for peace, progress, and divine guidance for political leaders, Ogun State, and Senator Adeola’s gubernatorial aspiration ahead of the 2027 election.

Speaking at the event, a party leader in the area, Comrade Akeem Akilo, described the gathering as timely, citing what he called Senator Adeola’s contributions to political and community development in the state.

According to Akilo, the programme was sponsored by a philanthropist and supporter of Senator Adeola’s governorship ambition.

“Senator Adeola’s dedication to the progress of our people and his commitment to transformational leadership are commendable. We pray that Almighty Allah crowns his efforts as the political process progresses toward the party primaries and the general elections,” - he said.

Akilo added that supporters remain optimistic about the Senator’s political future, expressing confidence in what he described as a growing movement for purposeful leadership, people-centred governance, and sustainable development in Ogun State.
