Fleeing armed robbery suspect arrested in Abia

Abia Police Command said it has arrested a criminal conspiracy and armed robbery suspect, one Chukwujekwu Uzoedo aged 26 years, from Uduma Ezinnachi, Okigwe, Imo State”.

The command’s Public Relations Officer, DSP Maureen Chinaka in a statement on behalf of the Commissioner of Police, Danladi Isa, said the suspect had been on the run for over one week.

The command’s spokesperson listed items recovered from the suspect to include, “One HP Laptop, One Tecno Android Phone, One Tecno POP 5, One Itel Android Phone, One Infinix Android Phone, One iPhone 16, One Black Earpod, One White Earpod, and One Motorcycle”

The statement further read. “Sequel to the press release issued on 17/07/2025 regarding the apprehension of four suspects involved in criminal conspiracy and armed robbery who has been terrorising and dispossessing students of Abia State University, Uturu, and other residents of their belongings, the Abia State Police Command intensified efforts and tracked down and arrested a fleeing accomplice linked to the crimes.

On 23/07/2025 at about 0940hrs, leveraging credible intelligence, operatives of the Uturu Divisional Headquarters successfully trailed and apprehended one Chukwujekwu  Uzoedo,  26 years, from Uduma Ezinnachi, Okigwe, Imo State but resident in Abia State in his hideout

‘’He was identified as one of the accomplices involved in the aforementioned armed robbery incident”.

“During interrogation, the suspect confessed his involvement in the crime. Investigation is ongoing with the view to apprehending other fleeing accomplices”.
