Eid-el-Fitr: Anambra First Lady urges love, unity
The wife of the Anambra State governor, Nonye Soludo, has congratulated Muslims across the country on the celebration of Eid-el-Fitr, which marks the end of Ramadan and the completion of a month of fasting.
Soludo urged Nigerians to promote love and unity, noting that Eid-el-Fitr serves as a reminder that love, sacrifice and tolerance remain the foundation of harmony and peaceful coexistence.
The Anambra First Lady, who is also the founder of the non-governmental organisation, Healthy Living with Nonye Soludo, made this known in a statement issued on Thursday to felicitate Muslim faithful.
She emphasised that the celebration of Eid-el-Fitr symbolises spiritual reflection and gratitude to Allah, adding that it strengthens community bonds through communal prayers, charity, family visits and the exchange of gifts, thereby fostering unity, generosity and joy.
She said, “Ramadan Kareem to the Muslim Ummah in Anambra State and all the faithful across the country celebrating this important feast.
Eid-el-Fitr reminds us that love, sacrifice and tolerance remain the greatest foundations of harmony and mutual coexistence.
“As you celebrate, remember that it is about spreading true love and genuine happiness. Let someone around you smile because of you.
Let love, kindness and oneness lead. Eid Mubarak to you and your loved ones.”
The First Lady also recently celebrated mothers across the country, describing motherhood as a “divine responsibility” that should be honoured at all times, noting that its value cannot be measured in material terms.
In a statement marking Mothering Sunday, observed globally on March 15, she said no gift or expression of love could equal the value of motherhood.
