EI Founder Emphasizes Selflessness and Unity at Abeokuta Hangout

The Founder of Encouragement Initiatives (EI), Dr. Rotimiolu Akinlesi, has stressed that positive association and selflessness are critical to personal growth and collective success.

This was made known during the annual EI Volunteers (EIVs) Meet-Up held at Baptist Girls College, Idi-Aba, Abeokuta, themed “Givers Never Lack.” The annual outdoor relaxation programme brings together EI Volunteers in Abeokuta and its environs to meet, connect, bond, eat, drink, and unwind in a fun-filled atmosphere.

In his welcome address, Dr. Akinlesi noted that “the kind of people you move with determine your track in life,” emphasizing that the group’s continued unity is rooted in shared values of selflessness and mutual support. He added that their ability to remain united over the years is a testament to their genuine commitment to one another and to the vision of the Initiative.

He commended members for their dedication and consistent contributions to the Initiative’s growth. According to him, the gathering goes beyond relaxation, serving as a platform for volunteers to build stronger connections, gain deeper understanding of one another, and harness their individual strengths for collective impact.

Describing EI as a body of selfless individuals, the Founder stated that members go all out each year to reach out to communities, support those in need, and make meaningful impact. Acknowledging the pressures and stress of daily life, he explained that the meet-up also serves as a chance for members to unwind, enjoy themselves, and recharge.
