EFCC arrests 78 Internet fraudsters

No fewer than 78 individuals suspected of engaging in internet fraud across in Nasarawa, Abia, and Kano states have been arrested by the Economic and Financial Crimes Commission.
This was disclosed in a statement on Friday by the commission’s spokesperson, Dele Oyewale, in Abuja, according to a report by the News Agency of Nigeria.
According to Oyewale, operatives of the EFCC apprehended 43 suspects in Toto, Nasarawa State, on Friday following credible intelligence linking them to online fraudulent activities.
He said that in a similar operation on Thursday, the commission arrested 30 suspects in the Ariam and Ubakala areas of Abia State.
Oyewale said officers from the EFCC’s Kano Zonal Directorate also apprehended five suspects during a sting operation at Farm Centre, Kano, on Tuesday.
The EFCC spokesperson said all the suspects would be charged in court upon the completion of investigations.
