Edo youths back Igbinedion for rapid development

Edo Youths in the Ovia Federal Constituency have pledged to collaborate with the newly House of Representative Member, Omosede Igbinedion to ensure progress for the constituency.
In the by-election held on Saturday All Progressives Congress’ Igbinedion scored a total of 77,053 votes while the PDP candidate, Johnny Aikpitanyi got 3,838 votes and candidate of the ADC, Dr. Sandra Asemota scored 925 votes.
The Minority leader in the Edo State Youth Parliament, Akin-Ola Eloghosa, on behalf of Ovia South West youths said that Igbinedion’s victory is refreshing because Ovia has chosen a leader with proven capacity, compassion, and vision.
He said in a statement, “On behalf of myself and the vibrant youths of Ovia South West, I warmly congratulate Hon. Omosede Igbinedion on your well-deserved and overwhelming victory in the August 16th, 2025 by election, where you polled an impressive 77,053 votes.
This landslide is not just a personal triumph for you, but a collective victory for the entire Ovia family, who have spoken loudly and clearly by entrusting their hopes and confidence into your capable hands.
“Your return to public service comes at a time when our people yearn for true representation. It is refreshing because Ovia has chosen a leader with proven capacity, compassion, and vision.
It is also reassuring because your victory symbolizes a renewed dawn one that carries the aspirations of our women, our elders, and most especially, our young people.
The massive support you received across the constituency is proof of your grassroots appeal, your years of dedicated service, and the enduring impact of the Igbinedion legacy in the lives of our people.”
The youths expressed confidence in Igbinedion’s commitment to inclusive governance and assurance of granting Ovia’s youths a voice and a rightful place at the decision making table.
He added, “The Edo State Youth Parliament is eager to stand with you, to work hand in hand in building policies and opportunities that uplift our young people and secure a stronger future for our constituency.

Recall that Barr. Igbinedion was first elected to the House of Representatives in 2011.
