Cynthia Morgan opens old wounds in Peter, Jude Okoye rift

Singer, Cynthia Morgan, has reignited tensions with Peter Okoye of the now defunct musical duo, P-Square, following Peter’s comments aimed at his brother and former manager, Jude Okoye.

In her response, Morgan shared her experience, stating, “In 2020 after my interview and those tweets from Peter, I went to him with my mum to thank him for his online support and my plans and he categorically told me I can’t fight his brother that his brother is richer than me and that his stance online wasn’t because he cared for me, my situation happened to fit his narrative… This one meeting broke me and I had no choice than to always call them out online till they labeled me crazy. We reconnected again last year and I told him how he treated me in 2020 and he apologised only for me to wake up this morning again to see him using my name in a disparaging manner and that will not be tolerated.”

In an Instagram post, Peter had accused Jude’s publicist of attempting to undermine his credibility. He wrote, “Exactly what I was talking about: their publicist doing everything to make me look like a liar. I am not MayD or Cynthia Morgan; I am PETER OKOYE, the one and only THE ROCK/OKWUTE of the Okoyes. The truth shall surely prevail.”

Recall that Jude Okoye is currently facing legal troubles, having been arraigned by the Economic and Financial Crimes Commission on multiple counts of theft and conversion of over $1 million in royalties from music digital distribution. The case has seen two hearings so far, with the next scheduled for October 10 and 17, 2025.
