Court remands four students over property destruction, conspiracy in Ogun
An Ogun State Magistrate Court sitting in Isabo area of Abeokuta, Ogun State, on Tuesday remanded four student leaders over alleged assault and destruction of property.
The defendants; Hezakiah Adelola, General Secretary of NANS Ogun State Chapter; Kamil Iseoluwa; Ibikunle Idris; and Folorusho Jacob Olugbenga.
They were arraigned on a seven count charge bordering on conspiracy, assault, harassment, and destruction of property.
The charge alleged that the defendants, on different occasions, harassed and assaulted one Kehinde Tejuosho and Lekan Olubodun, and destroyed properties valued at millions of naira.
While reading the charges, the court clerk stated that the four defendants were jointly charged on seven counts, ranging from assault and property destruction to conspiracy.
All the defendants pleaded not guilty to the charges.
In his ruling, the presiding Magistrate, M.K. Araba, granted each of the defendants bail to the tune of ₦1 million.
Pending the perfection of the bait condition, the magistrate directed that the defendants be remanded at the Oba Correctional Centre.
