Businesswoman Achimugu to grace Miss Nigeria 2026 opening event

The organisers of the 2026 Miss Nigeria pageant have disclosed that businesswoman Aisha Achimugu will deliver the keynote address at the Patrons and Board Dinner event to be held in Lagos State.

This was disclosed in a statement made available to The PUNCH on Sunday.

According to the statement, the dinner signifies the official opening of the 2026 edition of the beauty pageant and fashion show, themed “She is Made of More.”

The statement noted that the choice of Achimugu as the keynote speaker reflected her leadership and commitment to women’s empowerment.

The statement added, “Dr Achimugu’s selection as keynote speaker reflects her exceptional leadership, influence, and commitment to empowering women and driving socio-economic impact.

“As a trailblazer across multiple industries—including engineering, maritime, oil and gas, ICT, and strategic development—she continues to inspire a new generation of women to pursue excellence beyond traditional boundaries.

“At the event, Dr Achimugu is expected to deliver a compelling keynote centred on the power of self-discovery, mentorship, and the evolving narrative of beauty as a combination of purpose, intellect, resilience, and impact.

The organisers noted that the event will feature stakeholders and policymakers in the fashion, media, and enterprise ecosystem.

“The event, which serves as the official opening of the Miss Nigeria Beauty & Fashion Fair 2026, will convene an elite gathering of industry leaders, policymakers, creatives, and key stakeholders within Nigeria’s fashion, media, and enterprise ecosystem.

“The Patrons and Board Dinner will also feature the unveiling of key initiatives aimed at fostering creativity, entrepreneurship, and cultural advancement, including the Dailytimes Young Fashion Designer of the Year Award, the Green Girl Foundation, and the Miss Nigeria Travelogue,” the statement added.
