Austrian analyst condemns attack on Kwara church
Political analyst and Chairman of the Austrian Committee for NATO Enlargement, Gunther Fehlinger-Jahn, has condemned the recent attack on a parish of the Christ Apostolic Church in Eruku, Kwara State.
Fehlinger-Jahn made his position known in a post on X while reacting to reports of the incident on Wednesday.
Reacting to the development, Fehlinger-Jahn wrote.
“I got this video sent of an Islamist attack on a Church in Nigeria. Today is #RedWednesday, the global awareness day against the persecution of Christians.
What is happening in Nigeria is utterly unacceptable. It is time for military intervention.”
He further tagged US President Donald Trump, urging him to act now by sending the US Navy to intervene.
“On #RedWednesday, this shocking evidence hits hard @POTUS Act now. Send the Navy,” he wrote.
The Kwara State Police Command on Tuesday confirmed that suspected bandits killed at least two people and injured one during attacks in Eruku, a boundary town in the Ekiti Local Government Area. A parish of the Christ Apostolic Church was among the locations targeted.
It is learnt that three worshippers were shot dead on the spot, while the pastor and an unspecified number of congregants were taken into the bush.
