Army school lauds Glo on development

The Commandant of the Nigerian Army School of Signals, Maj. Gen. Kennedy Osemwegie, has lauded telecoms giant, Globacom, for what it described as “sustained commitment” to the development of the country.
Osemwegie gave the commendation during a courtesy visit to the company’s corporate headquarters in Lagos, where he noted that Globacom had, since more than two decades ago, projected a Nigerian outlook and “extended the frontiers of who a Nigerian should be through its Nigeria-centered focus.”
He emphasised the importance of cooperation in strengthening civil-military relations, while expressing interest in partnering with Glo Foundation—the corporate social responsibility arm of the company—to support the mandate of the signals training institution in both academic and professional areas.
“The Nigerian Army School of Signals is the hub of training for personnel in ICT and communications, as well as for some paramilitary organisations. We are seeking areas of collaboration with corporate bodies like Globacom to enable us to discharge our mandate more effectively,” he said.
Responding on behalf of Globacom’s management, the company’s Director of Strategy and Board Affairs, Mojisola Ashieru, reiterated the operator’s pride in being an indigenous brand transforming lives across the country.
She also pledged the company’s readiness to explore areas of partnership with the school.
According to her, Globacom can support the institution with its Smart Learning Suite, which includes a Learning Management System designed for digital content creation, live classes, online tests, performance tracking, instant messaging, and video conferencing.
