The Convener of the Omoluabi Movement, a prominent grassroots mobilisation group in Ogun State, Armstrong ‘Tope Akintunde, has joined Governor Prince Dapo Abiodun, CON, and all Ogun indigenes in celebrating the state’s 50 years of existence.
In a felicitation message titled “Celebrating Five Decades of Unity, Progress, and Shared Purpose,” Akintunde called for sustained unity among the people of Ogun State as the state marks another historic milestone.
“I extend my heartfelt congratulations to my principal and political leader, the Governor of Ogun State Prince Dapo Abiodun and the industrious people of the Gateway State on the occasion of the 50th anniversary of the state.
“This golden jubilee marks a defining chapter in Ogun’s journey-one shaped by resilience, unity, and an unwavering commitment to progress. Over the years, Ogun State has remained a pillar of cultural heritage, intellectual excellence, and economic relevance.
“The past five decades have witnessed significant strides driven by purposeful leadership and the enterprising spirit of the people. From educational excellence to infrastructural growth and industrial expansion, Ogun State has consistently demonstrated its readiness to lead and inspire. These achievements reflect a shared vision for a prosperous, inclusive, and forward-looking society.
“As Ogun State celebrates this landmark anniversary, I join the Governor and all citizens in looking ahead with renewed optimism. May this golden jubilee strengthen unity, deepen development efforts, and open new chapters of opportunity and success. Congratulations to the great people of Ogun State on fifty years of enduring impact and progress.”
In the same vein, the Ogun State Coordinator of the Omoluabi Movement, Hon. Olusegun Kaka, described the golden jubilee as a collective achievement for all who have contributed to the state’s development since its creation.
“I am glad to be part of this historic moment. This celebration belongs to all of us in Ogun State. While other states like Oyo and Ondo are also marking their golden jubilee, Ogun State stands out because of its undeniable unity, rapid growth, and developmental strides being championed by our leader, Prince Dapo Abiodun. This is truly a celebration for us all, and I am proud to be part of it,” Kaka said.
Politically, the Omoluabi Movement, formerly known as DACA, remains a formidable political force in Ogun State, promoting progressive ideals, participatory democracy, and responsible leadership.
Beyond politics, the movement is committed to nurturing a new generation of democratic leaders dedicated to accountability, development, and sustainable prosperity for Ogun State and Nigeria at large.
