25-Year-Old Man Arrested for Defiling 3-Year-Old Girl in Ogun
A 25-year-old man, Muniru Haruna, has been arrested by the Odede police division in Ogun State for allegedly defiling a three-year-old girl. The incident occurred on Saturday when the minor was playing nearby.
According to the police spokesperson, Omolola Odutola, the mother of the survivor reported the incident. Alaba Abdullahi, the 20-year-old mother, heard her daughter crying and rushed to investigate. She found her daughter emerging from the suspect’s room, displaying difficulty while walking and exhibiting signs of physical trauma.
Odutola confirmed that the incident was reported to the local Police out station at Orile-Ilugun on March 1, 2025, at about 11:00 am. The suspect, Muniru Haruna, allegedly committed the act while the victim was playing nearby.
The police spokesperson stated that the minor was taken to General Hospital Odeda for medical examination and necessary treatment. The police await the doctor’s results, which will be crucial in determining the next course of action.
Although the suspect has denied the allegations, the case has been referred to the Division Crime Branch for investigation. Upon completion of the preliminary inquiry, the case will be transferred to the State CID Eleweran.
