2027: Lagos community seeks Tinubu’s support to produce governor

The people of Badagry division of Lagos State have appealed to President Bola Tinubu to ensure that the All Progressives Congress’ governorship ticket for the 2027 election is zoned to their axis.
According to the Badagry indigenes, the area has for years been marginalised in the production of governors for the state.
Speaking under the aegis of the Concerned People of Badagry Forum, the indigenes said the division had remained loyal to the “Lagos project,” and therefore deserved the opportunity to produce the next governor of the state.
One of the leaders of the forum and chieftain of the APC in the area, Saka Shenayon, in an interview with, stated that they were advocating a candidate from Badagry to emerge as the next governor of Lagos State based on their loyalty to the APC and President Tinubu.
He added that the people of Badagry were making moves to meet with the President to formally present their appeal and address the issue.
Shenayon said, “We will present a quality candidate, and we hope the leadership will grant our request.
In a joint statement signed by Shenayon, and other indigenes Moses Ogunbiyi, Sejuro Samuel, Rofeequat Onabamiro, Kamoru Ajape, and Babatunde Olaide-Mesewaku, the Badagry people stressed the importance of zoning the ticket to their division.
