Villarreal defender Costa suffers knee injury

Villarreal centre-back Logan Costa will be sidelined for several months after suffering a severe knee injury.
“The medical tests undergone by Logan Costa confirm that the Villarreal defender has suffered a complete rupture of the anterior cruciate ligament in his left knee,” said the club nicknamed Yellow Submarine in a statement.
Cape Verde international Costa, 24, suffered the injury during a pre-season friendly against Basel on Saturday.
Spanish side Villarreal will compete in the Champions League this season after finishing fifth in La Liga in the 2024/25 campaign.
