Tambuwal gets fresh democratic dividends as Dikko rallies APC stakeholders in Sokoto

The Chief of Staff to the Sokoto State Governor, Alhaji Aminu Haliru Dikko, on Wednesday convened a landmark All Progressives Congress (APC) stakeholders’ meeting for Tambuwal Local Government Area, reaffirming the ruling party’s commitment to inclusive governance and grassroots development.

The meeting, held in Sokoto metropolis, brought together party leaders, elders, youths and women representatives from Tambuwal Local Government. It marked the first time stakeholders from the area gathered for such a broad-based political engagement outside their council headquarters.

Addressing participants, Dikko described the meeting as a strategic platform to strengthen party unity, consolidate achievements and chart a clearer path for sustained development in Tambuwal and Sokoto State at large.

He said the APC-led administration of Governor Ahmed Aliyu has prioritised people-oriented policies, ensuring that all local governments feel the impact of governance through visible projects, empowerment initiatives and political appointments

Dikko noted that Tambuwal Local Government has benefited significantly from the current administration, citing infrastructural development, human capital investment and increased political inclusion as clear dividends of democracy.

According to him, these gains are the result of Governor Aliyu’s resolve to run an all-inclusive government that rewards loyalty, competence and grassroots participation.

The Chief of Staff assured party faithful that Tambuwal and other local governments would continue to enjoy increased government presence as long as the APC remains united and focused on service delivery. He stressed that political stability and internal cohesion within the party are critical to sustaining development and attracting further investment.

He also pledged his personal commitment to supporting APC members, noting that the administration values the sacrifices and resilience of party loyalists across Tambuwal Local Government.

“Our government listens, our government delivers, and our government will continue to bring more dividends of democracy to our people,” Dikko said to applause.

The meeting also featured key policy disclosures by the State Commissioner for Basic and Secondary Education, Professor Abubakar Laden Ala, who announced government approval for the construction of two mega primary schools in Tambuwal Local Government.

Professor Ala disclosed that the projects, valued at ₦2.5 billion, are aimed at improving access to quality basic education and decongesting existing learning facilities. He said construction would commence soon, in line with Governor Aliyu’s education reform agenda.

He described education as the backbone of sustainable development, adding that the new schools would be equipped with modern facilities to meet global standards.

Stakeholders at the meeting expressed satisfaction with the level of attention Tambuwal Local Government has received under the current administration. Several speakers commended Governor Ahmed Aliyu for what they described as purposeful leadership, prudence and commitment to equitable development across the state.

They also praised the consultative leadership style of the APC in Sokoto State, noting that regular engagement has strengthened trust between the government and the people.

Special commendation was extended to the APC leader in the state, Senator Aliyu Magatakarda Wamakko, for his mentorship, political guidance and role in stabilising the party. Participants described him as a pillar of progressive politics whose influence continues to shape governance and party cohesion in the state.

The meeting resolved to intensify grassroots mobilisation and sustain support for the APC, with stakeholders agreeing that the achievements recorded so far are clear evidence of responsive leadership and good governance.

The gathering ended on a note of unity and optimism, with participants pledging continued loyalty to Governor Ahmed Aliyu’s administration and expressing confidence that Tambuwal Local Government will witness even greater development in the years ahead.
