Supporters gather at Port Harcourt airport to welcome Fubrara

A crowd of supporters on Friday converged at the VIP wing of the Port Harcourt International Airport, Rivers State, awaiting the arrival of Governor Siminalayi Fubara.
Fubara was scheduled to resume duties as Governor of Rivers State on Thursday, following the end of the six-month emergency rule.
reports that President Bola Tinubu, on Wednesday, announced an end to the emergency rule he declared in Rivers State on March 18, 2025.
The Sole Administrator of Rivers State, Rear Admiral Ibok-Ete Ibas (retd.), on Thursday also handed over power to Governor Fubara, declaring that law and order had been restored in the state.
However, while the House of Assembly resumed sitting on Thursday, Fubara did not show up at the Government House, despite the hundreds of supporters who gathered to welcome him.
Thousands of Supporters who had thronged the Government House in Port Harcourt, on Thursday morning to welcome Fubara reportedly went home disappointed after waiting for hours.
A video shared by Channels TV on Friday revealed a crowd of supporters waiting at the airport for Fubara’s arrival.
