Support Tinubu to rebuild Nigeria, FMC chair begs youths

The Chairman, Board of Management, Federal Medical Centre, Abeokuta, Dr Dayo Israel, has urged Nigerian youths to remain focused and hopeful, emphasising their crucial role in rebuilding the country.
He stated that young people must remain confident and seize every opportunity — whether in government or the private sector—to collaborate with President Bola Tinubu’s administration in building a stronger and more prosperous Nigeria.
Israel, who also serves as the National Youth Leader of the All Progressives Congress (APC), made this appeal on Wednesday during the inauguration of the state chapter executives of the APC Youth League at the June 12 Cultural Centre, Kuto, Abeokuta.
The youth leader commended President Bola Tinubu and state governments for giving young Nigerians opportunities to serve in government, stressing that those appointed must make the most of this privilege to transform the nation.
He explained, “The country needs to enter a new phase because there is a lot of work to be done.
“We are grateful to our President, Bola Tinubu, and all our governors for
encouraging and providing more opportunities for young people to participate in governance. Rebuilding Nigeria requires significant effort, and the youths are now privileged to take on many of these responsibilities.
“For instance, my brother, Lanre Sodipo, is the chairman of Abeokuta North, and I am the chairman of the Federal Medical Centre, Abeokuta.
“When you consider that young people are being given responsibilities, we have a duty to perform our roles diligently and help turn the country around for the benefit of its citizens.
Whether as government officials or young professionals, we must contribute to building the Nigeria of our dreams.
“Our youth must also learn perseverance. You have to be self-driven. Many times, we lack the resources needed to achieve our goals, but what keeps us going is our passion and commitment to making Nigeria great.
“Do not use lack of money or government support as an excuse. Do what you can with what you have, and trust that God will propel you forward.”
The National President of the APC Youth League and Special Adviser to Governor Dapo Abiodun on Youth Development, Olamide Lawal, also urged young people to be good role models and support the administration’s efforts to create a more prosperous nation.
Lawal said, “I encourage youths not to adopt negative behaviours, especially in this digital age, where we are exposed to all sorts of content on social media.
“They should be mindful of what they follow online and focus on acquiring skills, as the government cannot provide jobs for everyone.”
He added that the newly inaugurated executives of the APC Youth League’s state chapter had been trained and equipped to engage with grassroots communities to strengthen the party’s political base.
While thanking Abiodun and Tinubu for their commitment to youth empowerment, Lawal called for increased investment in initiatives that enhance young people’s skills and prepare them for a better future.
