Report linking us to Osun govt contractor false -Adeleke University
The management of the Adeleke University, Ede, Osun State, has dismissed a report purporting that a company that executed a stadium project for it was awarded a similar one by the state government.
This was contained in a statement signed by the Managing Director, Adeleke University Ventures Ltd, Mrs. Modupeola Adeleke-Sanni, obtained in Osogbo on Thursday.
The university described the said report as false, adding that Monimichelle Sports did not construct the Adeleke University sports complex.
“The attention of the management of Adeleke University has been drawn to a false news report alleging that the contractor handling the Osogbo stadium was the same firm that constructed the Adeleke University Stadium.
“The report is false as the firm in question, Monimichelle Sports, did not construct the Adeleke University sports complex.
“The university authority did not know the company referenced, nor does it have any information about its ownership or operations,” the statement read partly.
It urged members of the public and relevant agencies to disregard the information, insisting that “The Adeleke University’s sports facilities were built by a different contractor entirely, not Monimichelle Sports, as alleged.
We urge members of the public and media to disregard the inaccurate narrative linking Monimichelle Sports to the university’s sports complex.”
For those seeking to verify information regarding Adeleke University projects, the management directed them to contact the institution’s official communications office.
A report had linked Monimichelle Sports to the ongoing reconstruction of Osogbo Township Stadium.
It also claimed the company had executed a similar project for Adeleke University, a privately owned institution located in Ede, owned by billionaire businessman, Dr. Deji Adeleke, an elder brother to Osun State Governor, Ademola Adeleke.
Meanwhile, the PUNCH reports that Osun State government and the opposition All Progressives Congress in the state, have constantly been trading allegations over issues relating to either distribution of developmental initiatives or cost of execution of the projects.
The PUNCH reports that the Osun APC, accused the administration of Governor Ademola Adeleke of concentrating developmental projects in Ede, the governor’s hometown.
The allegations were contained in a statement signed by the Osun APC spokesperson, Mr Kola Olabisi.
But in a swift reaction, the governor’s spokesperson, Olawale Rasheed, dismissed the claim, saying infrastructural projects have been evenly distributed across communities in the state.
