Poland Government Stefan Banach NAWA Scholarship Details:
This Poland Government Stefan Banach Scholarship is a joint initiative of the Ministry of Foreign Affairs and the National Agency for Academic Exchange (NAWA) in the form of Polish development aid.
The Stephan Banach Scholarship and the Lukasiewicz Scholarship Programmes are merged into one scholarship programme for young people from developing countries who wish to take up studies in Poland.
Ultimately, the scholarship aims to support the socio-economic growth of developing countries (excluding European and Central Asian countries) through raising the level of knowledge and education of their citizens.
2026 Poland Government Stephan Banach Scholarship Requirements:
To be considered for the 2026 Stephan Banach Scholarship, you must meet the conditions below:
- Applicants must be citizens of one of the eligible developing countries.
- Albania, Angola, Argentina, Armenia, Azerbaijan, Belarus, Bosnia and Herzegovina, Brazil, Montenegro, the Philippines, Georgia, India, Indonesia, Iraq, Iran, Jordan, Kazakhstan, Kenya, Kosovo, Lebanon, North Macedonia, Mexico, Moldova, Mongolia, Nigeria, Palestine, Papua New Guinea, Peru, Rwanda, Senegal, Serbia, Tanzania, Tunisia, Ukraine, Uzbekistan, Vietnam
- Candidates must not have Polish citizenship and must not have applied for Polish citizenship
- Applicants must have been planning to start a master’s program in the academic year 2026/27
- not having Polish citizenship and having not submitted an application for Polish citizenship;
- planning to start second-cycle studies or a preparatory course in the winter semester of the 2026/27 academic year (from October 2026);
- have obtained a first-cycle degree in a Programme country no earlier than 2024, or are students in their final semester of first-cycle studies in a Program country and will obtain their degree by July 15, 2026,
- have not previously obtained a second-cycle or uniform master’s degree diploma;
- have not previously received the NAWA Director’s scholarship (NAWA scholarship) under NAWA programmes for second-cycle studies.
2026 Poland Government Scholarship Benefits
The Poland Government Scholarship awardees shall receive;
- monthly scholarship of PLN 2,500
- exemption from tuition fees at public universities
- preparatory course funded by NAWA (Polish-track)
- travel allowance (PLN 2,500)
- studies in Polish or English
- Polish language and culture course (English-track)
