PDP’s candidate Oluyede confident of victory

The Peoples Democratic Party governorship candidate in Ekiti State, Dr Wole Oluyede, has assured that he will emerge victorious in the June 20 election.

Oluyede reassured the people that if elected, his administration would usher in a new dawn and a fresh lease of life to the state and its people.

The Wole Oluyede Campaign Organisation, which made the disclosure in a statement by its Press Secretary, Idowu Adelusi, in Ado Ekiti, on Wednesday, urged voters, saying, “Do not be influenced by election-season incentives. The June 20 governorship election will provide an opportunity for residents to remove the heartless government.

“Ekiti people should come out en masse on the election day to vote for Wole Oluyede and to shun the inducement by the All Progressives Congress.

“We are confident that Dr Wole Oluyede will emerge victorious at the poll to usher in a new dawn in Ekiti.”

The council disagreed with the statement by Vice President Kashim Shettima during the inauguration of Ado Ekiti flyover on Tuesday that the governor had done well and deserved reelection, adding that Ekiti people had not felt the governor’s impact.

Adelusi, who queried why it took about four years to complete the bridge, said, “The Oyebanji administration has failed to justify the huge allocations received from the Federal Government.”

The campaign organisation stated that the Oyebanji administration had failed to deliver the level of development expected by residents, adding that the government was embarking on last-minute empowerment programmes and payments as the governorship election approached.

“There are a limited number of visible projects delivered by the Oyebanji administration despite the increased revenue inflow.

“Vice President Shettima’s assertion that Oyebanji has performed well enough to deserve another term in office has merely added salt to the wounds of many Ekiti residents who have been impoverished by the policies and actions of the Oyebanji administration,” he stated.
