OOU MC 006 Elects New Executives as Sylvester Njoku Emerges President

The Olabisi Onabanjo University (OOU), Mass Communication Department, 2006 set, on Friday, sworn in Mr Sylvester Njoku as the new President of the Alumni Association.
In his acceptance speech after taking the Oath of Office, Njoku expressed appreciation for the trust and confidence placed on him by members of the association.
He pledged to work tirelessly to advance the interest of the association and promote the values of university.
Njoku explained that his administration would focus on building meaningful connections among members, supporting each other's personal, professional growth, and give back to the community through service and philanthropic gesture.
He listed his key priorities to include " Networking and Career Development, Alumni Engagement and Community Service.
We will organize initiatives that give back to members who needs supports, our university and local communities, reflecting our values of social responsibility.
I invite each of you to join me on this journey, to share your ideas, talents, and time to make our community thrive. Together, we can achieve great things and make a lasting impact.
Your enthusiasm, encouragement, and votes have meant the world to me. I am excited to work with each of you to build a stronger, more connected, and more successful alumni community," he said.
The new President commended the electoral committee for a wonderful job.
Speaking on behalf of the Electoral Committee, Mr Daniel Owoyemi, extended heartfelt appreciation for the opportunity and trust the association placed on the committee members.
Your engagement, patience, and contributions through every stage of the process had been the heartbeat of its success.
In line with the collective interest of stability and continuity, we are pleased to announce that the Interim Executives who stepped up to fill vacant roles during the transition period will now continue in those positions on a permanent basis.
This decision was taken after careful consultation and consideration of their
willingness to serve at a critical time and their endorsement by the general house through a transparent nomination and selection process," he said.
Other members of the newly elected officers included Titilope Awobajo as Vice President, Funto Akporotu as General Secretary, Yetunde Shafau as Treasurer, Abiodun Timiren as Welfare Officer and Kemisola Idowu as Public Relations Officer (PRO).
