Ondo youths urged to be self-reliant
Youths in Ondo State have been urged to be self-reliant by acquiring entrepreneurial skills instead of seeking white-collar jobs.
An entrepreneur in the state, Sherif Omoleke, while addressing a group of youths in Akure, the state capital, on Friday, said unemployment in the country would be drastically reduced if youths acquired entrepreneurial skills and started their own businesses after school.
I want to advise the youths, especially students, to always think about what to do for themselves after graduation. White-collar jobs are very scarce in the country today, so we should be thinking entrepreneurship and becoming employers of labour,” he said.
Omoleke appealed to the government to provide an enabling environment for small and medium-scale businesses to thrive in the country in order to end the challenges of unemployment and youth restiveness
